Wentworth winner downplays early election call as victory margin narrows

Newly elected independent Kerryn Phelps pushes back against Labor’s call for an early election, saying the Coalition should serve a full term unless there are “exceptional circumstances”. Dr Phelps has claimed victory in Wentworth, but the margin narrowed to fewer than 900 votes this morning as postal votes came in.
