Watch Beyoncé’s Daughter Blue Ivy Carter Tell Her Grandmother Tina Lawson a Great Corny Joke

Beyoncé’s 7-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter let the world know what a talented and adorable little comedian she is when she appeared on her grandmother Tina Lawson’s Instagram to tell a corny joke. Blue herself remained off camera except for her hand, but as Lawson made clear to viewers, Blue came up with the clever joke she told.

“Hi. It’s corny joke time, and I’m here with a very special guest, my beautiful granddaughter,” Lawson started the video, where Blue’s waving hand made its brief appearance. “She actually gave me the joke, so here it goes.”

“Hey! So, how many petals—I mean, how many lips does a flower have?” Blue asked. “Two lips. You get it? There’s a kind of flower that’s called a tulip.”

“I got it, I got it,” Lawson assured her, cracking up on camera.

Blue has appeared on Lawson’s Instagram before. One of her most viral guest appearances there was when she scolded her grandmother for taking videos in a Paris theatre where they were watching ballet. “You’re not supposed to take videos, Grandma! You’re not supposed to,” she said.

As for Blue’s entertainment career prospects, her grandmother spoke before about how Blue Ivy Carter was uncertain whether she would pursue a life of stardom. Lawson told Us Weekly in November that Blue has been performing “since birth” because “how could be in this family and not sing?” Lawson added that Blue was currently in dance lessons but “hasn’t decided yet” if she’ll go into the biz.

Still, she’s talented enough to do anything. “Whatever she wants to do, she will definitely be able to do it because she’s good at a lot of things,” Lawson said.
