Trump praises wrong Ivanka in Twitter gaffe

A Twitter user from Brighton awoke this morning to find she had received praise from an unlikely source – the next leader of the free world.

Donald Trump wanted to praise his daughter Ivanka on his account, and retweeted a message from one user that said his daughter was “great, a woman with real character and class”.

But the user who sent the original tweet tagged the wrong Ivanka, and the President-elect repeated the error.

Instead, the message was directed at a woman called Ivanka Majic, who lives in Brighton, East Sussex.

The tweet was swiftly retweeted and favourited thousands of times.

Ms Majic replied to Mr Trump on Twitter, writing: “And you’re a man with great responsibilities. May I suggest more care on Twitter and more time learning about climate change.”
