Prince William Drops Big Hint That Royal Baby #3 Will be a Boy

Up until now, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have both kept the gender of their third child a closely-guarded secret. But on Tuesday night while celebrating his soccer team Aston Villa’s big win against their rivals Cardiff City, Prince William may have accidentally let it slip that he and Kate Middleton are expecting a baby boy.

After Aston Villa player Jack Grealish made the winning goal, William told fans, “I’m going to insist the baby is called Jack,” the Mirror reports. After pausing, he reportedly also added, “…or Jackie,” to cover his slip-up.

There’s no official word yet either on what the royal baby’s name will be, but Jack isn’t among the favorites that royal fans are placing bets on already. In fact, up to this point, U.K. bookkeepers have been favoring odds that the royal baby will be a girl with the name Alice or Mary. If it does end up being a boy, Albert and Arthur are the favored names for a prince.

Either way, the child will be officially known as His/Her Royal Highness Prince/Princess [name] of Cambridge, just like his or her two older siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

While Kate Middleton hasn’t gone into labor yet, preparations have already been made at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London this week ahead of Kate Middleton’s April due date. Even though the palace has not released an official due date, many are expecting the next royal baby to arrive on April 23.
