Yup, Melania Trump wore controversial clothing again. On Friday, the First Lady received a ton of backlash for another questionable fashion statement during her first solo trip to Africa. Trump was on a safari at the Nairobi National Park when she was photographed wearing a white pith helmet—a hat with direct ties to colonialism.

According to People, the hat dates back to the 19th and 20th centuries when colonization ran rampant. “European military personnel often wore pith helmets as they sought out colonies in Africa and Asia. The hats remained popular with those who moved to colonized countries and are seen by many as symbolic of the oppression of colonization.”

Melania’s insensitive attire did not go unnoticed by journalists and scholars on Twitter, who were quick to call out the First Lady.
