Family of 4 trapped in smashed car rescued

Ajman Civil Defence team uses hydraulic cutters to take out mother and children from vehicle

Ajman: A Civil Defence team in Ajman managed to free an Emirati woman and her three children who became trapped in her car after a collision with another car behind GMC Hospital in Al Nuaimia area on Tuesday afternoon.

The injured were transferred to hospital to receive treatment.

Lieutenant-Colonel Raad Obaid Al Za’abi, deputy director of Ajman Civil Defence, said the operations room received a report on Tuesday afternoon from the police regarding a collision of two vehicles.

When emergency officials arrived on the scene, they found an Emirati driver and her children trapped in one of the collided vehicles. The rescuers had to use hydraulic cutters to cut the vehicle to rescue the family.

Lt-Col Al Za’abi said the woman and her three children sustained minor to moderate injuries and they were immediately sent to a hospital in an ambulance.
