New Delhi: A Delhi Police team left for Lucknow on Tuesday to detain a former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Member of Parliament’s son who whipped out a pistol at a luxury hotel during a fight, police said.
Ashish Pandey, son of Rakesh Pandey, got into the fight on the hotel premises on Saturday night, the hotel said in a complaint.
“Ashish Pandey does not live in Delhi. He lives in Lucknow. We have sent a team to Lucknow to locate the man,” a police officer said.
A case under the Arms Act has been registered against Ashish.
A video showing Ashish holding a pistol and grabbing the other man’s collar went viral online.
In the video, Ashish and his friends can be heard abusing a man who used the ladies’ washroom, the police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Devender Arya said a complaint was received on Monday from the Assistant Security Manager of Hyatt Regency Hotel in south Delhi.
