UAE issues travel alert to Maldives

Dubai: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) has warned UAE passengers travelling to the Maldives, advising them to be vigilant and cautious.

On its official Twitter account, the MoFAIC said that Emiratis travelling to the Maldives should take precautions due to the political instability in the country.

The ministry also issued a travel advisory to Emiratis, urging them to call the 24-hour hotline number 800 44444 in the event of an emergency.

Passengers were reminded to sign up to the Tawajudi “my presence”, wherein Emiratis could register their locations while travelling, on a secure and confidential ministry website, that would allow the government to assist them in emergencies.
