The Wedding Dress

According to royals reporter Omid Scobie, Markle already had fittings for her wedding dress and met with her best friend and stylist Jessica Mulroney to discuss dress options. Her Dream Dress

Back in 2016, Markle did an interview with Glamour where she revealed her idea of a perfect wedding dress: “I have the luxury of wearing beautiful pieces of clothing every day for work, so my personal style—wedding or not—is very pared down and relaxed. Classic and simple is the name of the game, perhaps with a modern twist. I personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical or subtly romantic. Delphine Manivet and Christos Costarellos are faves of mine for their uniqueness and beauty. And I will always be a fan of Ellie Saab. J. Mendel is spectacular as well, especially for more structural designs.”

She also mentioned that her favorite celebrity wedding dress was Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s gown from 1996.

The Economy

Reuters estimates that the royal wedding will bring in about 500 million pounds to Great Britain. Part of that is due to the amount of tourists expected to come for the wedding in May; tourists are expected to bring in over $270 million. David Haigh, the chief executive of the business valuation consultancy Brand Finance, expects that $202 million will be spent on parties and $68 million will come from merchandise. The ceremony will also bring in an estimated $135 million in free advertising worldwide.
